What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday Kicks Off December 1st!

After four years of giving, #GivingTuesday is going strong! A national, actually global, day of giving ignited by social media and collaboration. Traditionally held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving it piggy-backs on the shopping spectacles of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday is a great opportunity to kick off the giving season, when many people are focusing on their holiday and year-end giving. #GivingTuesday has become a day that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy during the holidays.

#GivingTuesday relies on the of people in our community to bring about change that can be felt throughout the year. Simple, small acts of kindness, from $5 to larger gifts are what keep area non-profit organizations going to be able to provide services and supports for those who are in need.

Dignity Now Inc. and Developmental Connections are participating in #GivingTuesday, which kicks off at 12:01am on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. All of the money raised goes toward programs like summer camp scholarships (to Camp Barnabas and Wonderland Camp for children and adults with disabilities), therapeutic horseback riding, music therapy, Project Lifesaver bracelets, respite care for parents and caregivers who may need a little break and the many other programs. Find more information on our programs here.

What a great opportunity to get in those last-minute tax write-off, too! Dignity Now Inc. is a 501(c)3 and we would be happy to provide you with a donation receipt.

We invite you to join the movement and to help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 this December 1. Some ideas include:

What a great way to end the year! Thank you for your support. Without our generous community members, the people we serve would not have the opportunities they have to live full and included lives! Blessings to you and yours this holiday season!
