Do you need assistance?

If you are unable to complete a written complaint due to a disability or if information is needed in another format, such as braille or large print, please contact Developmental Connections at 417-335-4135 or [email protected].

How will your complaint be handled?

Developmental Connections investigates complaints received within 180 days after the alleged incident. Developmental Connections only processes complaints that are legible and complete.

Developmental Connections will generally complete an investigation within 90 days of receipt of a complaint.  You will be contacted if more information is required.  Unless a longer period is specified by Developmental Connections, you will have ten (10) days from the date of the request to send the information, or Developmental Connections may administratively close the case. A case may also be administratively closed if Developmental Connections receives notice you no longer wish to pursue it.

After an investigation is complete, Developmental Connections will send you a letter summarizing the results of the investigation, stating the findings and advising of corrective action (if any).  If you disagree with Developmental Connections determination, you may request reconsideration by submitting a written request to Developmental Connections within seven (7) days after the date of the letter. Please ensure you state the specific details for the reconsideration.

The Executive Director will notify you of the decision either to accept or reject the request for reconsideration within ten (10) days.  The Executive Director will issue a determination letter upon completion of the review.
